Characteristics and applications of Moment Joiner glue

Gluing wood can be quite difficult; it is necessary to use high-quality compounds that can penetrate deep into the wooden structure. Glue Moment Joiner is one of these products, and is distinguished by a number of positive properties that make it popular among craftsmen and ordinary buyers. To get a high-quality result, you need to understand the intricacies of its use. Glue can be used for other purposes. The features of this type of glue will be discussed in detail below.

Peculiarities

Joiner's glue is a line of specialized adhesive compositions that help repair furniture elements, and can often be used in everyday life and for professional activities related to furniture. Joiner's adhesive Moment can be used to treat wooden surfaces used inside and outside the building.

Because of this property, the product is considered universal. The glue helps to obtain a reliable adhesion to the wood and is characterized by the rapid hardening of the layer. So, on average, at temperatures of 20-25 degrees, the process takes up to 10 minutes. Increasing the temperature leads to a reduction in the time required to create a strong connection.

PVA joiner glue is distinguished by its moisture-resistant characteristics, heat resistance and the creation of a strong adhesion.

After the base has dried, the layer will remain invisible, its structure will become colorless. For this reason, it is convenient to use on different types of wood; the aesthetic appearance of the product will not be affected.

The glue helps to obtain a reliable adhesion to the wood and is characterized by the rapid hardening of the layer.

Features of the product

There are several types of products from the Moment Joiner line; they differ in fillers, but in principle they have the same basic composition. It includes polyvinyl acetate (PVA) dispersion, dyes, plasticizers, and targeted additives. It is the latter that determine the strength of the glue and increase its moisture resistance and heat resistance.

The ability to withstand contact with moisture varies among different adhesives in this series. Some can only withstand short-term contact with water, others have a super strong degree of moisture resistance. In any case, adhesion to surfaces of all adhesives is high. The distinctive quality of the products is their environmental safety: they do not contain toxic or poisonous substances and can even be used in children's premises. All Moment Stolyar adhesives have hygienic certificates, quality certificates and compliance with European standards. The color of some products in the line is not the same as that of PVA, and even after drying, the area where classic glue is applied will resemble a section of light wood.

Other properties of the glue:

  • shortened setting and drying period,
  • absence of substances that attract pests,
  • Completely invisible after drying.

The composition can be applied at any temperature above +10 degrees; there is also a limit on humidity - no more than 80%. Installation of wooden products at low temperatures causes a decrease in the level of adhesion, therefore the recommendations of the instructions must be followed. The approximate material consumption is 150 g/sq.m. m, in some cases it may increase. After complete drying, the adhesive joint becomes suitable for coating with varnish or paint.

Varieties

Different adhesives are not the same in cost, setting period and time until the products are ready for use, and in shades. Types of adhesives from the “Moment Joiner” line, which are presented in construction and hardware stores:

  1. "Moment Joiner Express". A universal product, suitable for all types of wood. The glue has proven itself best when working with wood fiber, particle boards, and natural veneer. The composition is moderately moisture resistant. It has an accelerated drying rate, setting time depending on the moisture content of the wood and air temperature varies from 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. “Moment Joiner Super-PVA” (class D2). This product is no less high-quality than the previous one; it glues all types of wood, as well as laminate, chipboard and fiberboard. The glue can is bright red in appearance, so it is easily recognizable. Its texture is transparent, and after drying the composition is not at all noticeable on the products. You can work with the product only in dry rooms or at moderately high humidity; it has low moisture resistance. 20 minutes is enough for complete setting.
  3. “Moment Joiner Super-PVA Waterproof” (class D3). This glue retains the properties of the previous one, but has an increased moisture resistance rating. Also, “Moment” of this class has excellent cold resistance: it can withstand many defrosting and freezing cycles without losing quality. You can work with glue on wood and laminated substrates. Most often it is used to work with products in the bathroom, toilet, and kitchen.
  4. "Moment Joiner Universal". Classic glue, which is a water-dispersion composition, is suitable for any type of wood, wood products, and combined materials. Consistency – translucent, color – beige. The initial setting index is 30 kg/sq.m. cm. After drying, there are no cloudy spots, streaks, or colored highlights left on the product. The product provides a strong, durable connection of parts. To improve the quality of adhesion, you need to fix the surfaces for at least 20 minutes.
  5. "Moment Joiner Instant Grip." The composition of the product contains acrylic additives, due to which the time for the glue to set is reduced. This mounting tool only takes 10 seconds to secure the products together. It is easy to apply the glue; after drying there will be no traces left on the surface. The adhesion of the composition is enhanced, so it can be used for gluing wood to other materials, for example, plastic, metal. The product can withstand at least five cycles of freezing and defrosting.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of different types of funds are also different. For example, the level of moisture resistance of “Super-PVA Waterproof” is very high; it practically does not react to a humid environment, while “Universal Glue” cannot boast of this property. Most adhesives can withstand temperatures up to +70 degrees, which is very convenient when working with veneer that needs to be heated during installation. The cost of “Moment” is low, it can be applied in a thin layer, this makes the product economical.

Other advantages of the composition:

  • versatility, suitability for a wide range of materials,
  • invisible after drying, no need to remove stains, stains, smudges,
  • fast setting,
  • environmentally friendly, no harm to health,
  • excellent adhesion indicator,
  • reduction of time for repair or installation of products.

The adhesive contains no components that could damage the structure of wood, artificial or combined materials. The adhesive joint is very durable; it will not collapse over many years of use.

“Moment” also has its drawbacks. The humidity of the material must be strictly controlled before starting work. If it exceeds 18%, it is better not to use gluing: adhesion and the quality of the adhesive joint will greatly decrease. The air temperature during installation must be sufficient (from +10 degrees), otherwise the drying time will seriously increase. The disadvantages also include the weak water resistance of class D2 glue, which can only be used for products located indoors and not in contact with water.

Scope of application of glue

Wood glues can have different areas of application; some types can be used not only for gluing wood parts, but are also suitable for other materials. The Express type is typically used for paper, cardboard and straw items. So, at home, you can use it, if available, to create creative crafts.

The type with the designation D3 is also suitable for such activities; it is often used by craftsmen to work with window frames and door elements. It is best used for furniture in the kitchen or bathroom, where the humidity level is high. D3 is a product with a high level of waterproof properties.

There is a universal type that can be selected for gluing PVC and metal elements. There is a type called “Instant Grip”, which stands out for its ability to reliably and durablely glue wooden, metal and PVC structures. This allows PVA glue to be used for processing large objects, and not just for gluing small furniture parts.

Wood glues can have different areas of application; some types can be used not only for gluing wood parts, but are also suitable for other materials.

Kinds

Adhesive “Moment Joiner” is presented in modern markets in the form of 5 series.

They differ in the composition of the main substances, color, conditions of use, setting period and complete hardening.

  1. “Moment Joiner glue express” is a universal moisture-resistant material, suitable for working with wood of any species. They can be used to glue plywood, wood-fiber and particle board substrates, and veneer boards. The time for complete setting is influenced by the air temperature and humidity of the wood.

2. “Moment Joiner Super PVA” is suitable for working not only with wood, but also with chipboard, fiberboard and laminate. It can be spotted among other varieties by its bright red jar. It, unlike the previous variety, has a transparent structure. After drying, it is almost invisible on the surface. But it is suitable for work in dry and moderately damp rooms, as it belongs to class D2.

3. “Moment Joiner super PVA D3 waterproof” is a universal material that differs from other varieties in its optimal degree of frost resistance. It is not afraid of repeated freezing and thawing. It can fasten not only wooden, but also laminated bases. You need to choose this variety for working in rooms with high humidity levels.

4. “Moment Joiner PVA universal” has a water-dispersion base and is also suitable for working with any recommended materials. It has a shortened period of complete setting, a transparent consistency, and does not leave streaks, cloudy spots or colored highlights on the surface. In order for the glue to create the most dense, reliable and durable adhesion, you need to ensure that the surfaces are firmly fixed for 20 minutes.

5. “Moment Joiner Instant Grip” is an acrylic water-dispersion composition, suitable for working with any type of wood, it sets in 10 seconds, so it requires certain application skills. It is very simple and easy to apply and does not leave any marks on the surface. You can use it to fasten wood to metal, PVC to plastic. It can withstand 5 cycles of short-term freezing without damage.

Advantages and disadvantages

PVA carpentry universal type is one of the popular adhesive solutions and is often chosen by customers. The product can be sold so successfully due to the advantages that distinguish super carpenter glue from other similar compounds. Experts highlight the following positive properties:

  • It exhibits a high degree of resistance to humidity and water, for this reason objects treated with glue can be used outdoors and in rooms with high levels of humidity;
  • The level of heat resistance is high, it can withstand a glued seam up to +70 degrees; this characteristic is necessary if veneer is being installed, which requires heating the surface during installation work;
  • High-quality level of adhesion, while the composition sets in a short period of time. It will be possible to complete the creation or repair of furniture quickly, without wasting extra time waiting for the glue joint to dry;
  • It will take about 15 minutes to dry the seam area;
  • The manufacturer indicates the durability of gluing wooden elements, the service life of the glued area on the packaging, this period is observed, and the structure will serve for a long time, withstanding external harmful factors.

However, there are two significant disadvantages of PVA moment joiner glue. The composition is not resistant to low temperatures, which makes adjustments to the versatility of the product’s scope of application. The layer can only be applied to wooden boards, the humidity level of which should not be higher than 18%, otherwise it will not be possible to obtain the desired long-lasting result.

The composition sets in a short period of time.

Release forms

If you want to achieve a high drying speed, you should purchase glue marked “Express”. It contains additives that accelerate the evaporation of the solvent. As a result, only solid fractions remain. Glue is used for small parts, because it is not as reliable as the standard version. With its help, you can glue edging or decorative elements that are usually not subject to high loads.

Glue Moment "Stolyar" is offered for sale in five packaging options. If you want to purchase the composition for household needs, a 125-gram tube is suitable for you. With its help you can repair furniture in your home. The spout in the package has a structure that allows you to control the consumption of glue and store it after use. There is no risk of the glue drying out.

You can choose jars that contain 250 and 750 g. They are usually purchased for the needs of a small carpentry workshop. Usually this “Stolyar” glue lasts for a long time, because on average a little mixture is used for one product. There is no point in purchasing more capacious packaging, because they can simply dry out. Large furniture factories require 3 kg or 30 kg buckets. The factory produces several dozen pieces of furniture every day, so the product will be used up quickly.

Characteristic

PVA glue Moment is so called due to the presence of an important element of PVA. Also, in order to improve the strength and heat-resistant characteristics, plasticizing substances and other additives are included, and pigment is introduced. When the layer dries completely, it acquires a yellow tint, similar to light wood.

The degree of moisture resistance of the compositions varies. For example, D2 can withstand only short-term exposure to moisture, while D3 can cope with long-term exposure to water. On sale there are containers with adhesive solution of different sizes, small tubes and large buckets.

Most often, this product is used when gluing wood, but it can also be used for other materials. The list includes the following grounds:

  • Veneer;
  • Plastic;
  • Foam rubber;
  • Cardboard products;
  • Accessories;
  • Rough type of textile.

Among the technical characteristics are:

  • Heat resistance;
  • Resistance to moisture;
  • Quick drying;

Composition and scope of application of Moment Super PVA D2 glue

Moment Super PVA glue is made on a water-dispersion basis. It is used for:

  • connections of all tree species;
  • carrying out assembly gluing of parquet and laminated coverings;
  • work with MDF, chipboard and fiberboard, as well as multi-layer plywood;
  • gluing veneer and decorative laminate.

For the above purposes, composition D2 is not always ideal. It is convenient to work with, but sometimes the result is unpleasantly surprising.

It is worth noting that its moisture resistance is lower than that of D3.

Product Features

The main characteristics of the glue, due to which it differs from conventional PVA, are:

  • increased adhesive strength;
  • fast setting;
  • medium viscosity;
  • completely transparent seam;
  • water resistance class D2.

The composition is made on the basis of polyvinyl acetate. In the package the mass is white, and after drying it becomes transparent. The dry residue here reaches 53%.

Advantages of wood glue

PVA Moment has many positive qualities, but we will highlight only the most significant:

  • the ability to connect any type of wood;
  • strength;
  • reliability;
  • absence of yellowness and marks on the joined products after drying;
  • no solvents in the composition.

From the history

The appearance of the “Moment” glue, known to everyone in our country, began back in 1979. opened a plant in Tosno, which is located in the Leningrad region. Over time, high-quality and easy-to-use adhesive solutions called “Moment” have become one of the most popular household products on the construction market.

More than one hundred types of products under this name are produced. You can find a suitable option for any purpose.

opened a plant in Tosno, which is located in the Leningrad region.

Application technology

PVA glue Moment is a high-quality and reliable composition, but it must be used correctly. It will not be difficult for experienced craftsmen to quickly achieve the desired result using this product, but neophytes often suffer because of their mistakes when the joined products diverge or lie unevenly.

To avoid adverse consequences, it is recommended to strictly follow the step-by-step procedure for working with the adhesive mass:

  1. Remove working surfaces from dirt and dust and dry.
  2. Make sure that the air temperature in the workroom reaches +18-25 degrees.
  3. Distribute the mixture over one surface in a thin and even layer.
  4. Place the surfaces on top of each other, press down and leave for 20 minutes.

The glue will set quite quickly, but this does not mean that the connected parts are ready for further use. After the indicated 20 minutes, you can only release the products and not put pressure on each other, but they can only be processed a day after gluing.

Tips and tricks

Moment glue is not only a means for gluing wood. It can also be used when working with paper, cardboard or straw. So, with the help of such a mass you can make a craft with your child or make a gift for a friend yourself. This is the versatility of the composition - it is good at everything - from heavy repairs to craft work.

When connecting parts, they must be pressed. This can be done with your hands or with devices specially designed for this - clamps or a vice. As a last resort, if there are no such tools at hand, books or any other heavy object will do.

Packaging, storage and shelf life

PVA Moment is sold in different packages. They contain different volumes and, accordingly, they are purchased for specific purposes:

  • tube – 125 g (for children’s crafts);
  • bottle - 250 or 750 g (for frequent making of crafts);
  • bucket – 3 or 30 kg (for repair and construction work).

Regardless of the container, it is recommended to store the composition at a temperature of +5-30 degrees Celsius. In addition, be sure to keep the glue in a tightly closed container so that it does not dry out.

The maximum shelf life is 18 months from the date of production. But once opened, you should not store it for more than 15 months, much less use it after the specified time.

Instructions for use

The super properties of adhesive solutions can only manifest themselves if the technology is performed correctly. For this reason, it is necessary to follow the manufacturer's instructions for application and preparation of the substrate before gluing.

The gluing steps are as follows:

  1. There is a special tip on the container that needs to be cut so as to obtain the desired seam size when applied.
  2. The base must be thoroughly cleaned of all types of contaminants.
  3. The base should be degreased, a thinner is used, the procedure will help increase the level of adhesion.
  4. The adhesive solution is applied to one part with a spatula, brush or roller.
  5. After the second part is connected to the first, fixation is ensured for at least 10-15 minutes, then the glue will set better. Moment Express wood glue is distinguished by its fast setting and is suitable for small structures.
  6. Complete drying is completed after 24 hours. The setting period depends on the moisture level of the wood; the higher it is, the longer it will take to dry.
  7. To ensure fixation, you can use fixing products or a weight press.
  8. The temperature of the glue should not be lower than +10 degrees.

The use of glue allows you to avoid deterioration in the appearance of the furniture, the seam will not be noticeable, unlike screws and nails, and the quality of adhesion will be high.

When gluing hard wood, glue should be applied to both parts.

It is necessary to follow the manufacturer's instructions for application and preparation of the base before gluing.

Instructions and operating rules

Before gluing the parts, you need to properly prepare both bases. To do this, the surfaces are cleaned of dust and dirt, old paint is removed from them, and grease is removed by wiping with alcohol and acetone. The optimal moisture content of wood is 8-10%, the limit of this indicator is 18%. At a humidity of 12-14% you need to be prepared for an increase in the setting time of the glue. It is advisable that the room temperature be about 20 degrees.

The procedure for working with glue is as follows:

  1. Cut the tip of the tube nozzle to a size corresponding to the width of the required seam. If you purchased “Moment” in a jar or bucket, open the packaging.
  2. Make sure the adhesive and materials being joined are at room temperature. It is better if they are heated to +23...+25 degrees.
  3. Apply a thin layer of the product with a brush, roller or rubber spatula. To achieve better adhesion, both surfaces should be treated with glue.
  4. Fix the products for 10-15 minutes for the glue to set. If the moisture content of the wood is high, this time must be increased. Vices and heavy objects can be used as clamps. It is best to leave the products in this position for a day - this is how long the adhesive seam needs until it is ready for use.
  5. Remains of glue that extend beyond the seam must be removed mechanically (for example, wiped off with a damp cloth).

You need to be careful when working with Instant Grip glue. The parts should be folded correctly right away, because they will set almost immediately. For all adhesives from the Moment Joiner line, it is the high-quality initial fixation that is important, so immediately after applying the product the strongest pressure is ensured.

Packaging and storage

For household purposes, it is more popular to purchase adhesive solution in small volumes. The company produces products in tubes of 125 grams and 250 grams. In such tubes, for comfortable distribution of the composition over the surface, a convenient tip is provided, which after use is tightly screwed, ensuring reliable protection of the glue from becoming dry and unsuitable for work.

This volume is sufficient for minor repairs, gluing cardboard and paper sheets, when creating children's crafts or other elements for home decor.

There are packages on sale in 750 grams, 3 kilograms and 30. For professional activities, furniture makers like to choose a volume of 3 kilograms; 30-kilogram containers are used in production. Each one has a lid that can be tightly closed.

The “Quick Grip” type of glue, due to its regular use for small jobs, is available in volumes of 100 and 200 grams.

Storage should be carried out in a hermetically sealed container, the storage temperature range varies between +5 and +30 degrees. The packaging must not be exposed to ultraviolet rays or moisture.

It is not advisable to freeze white or other wood glue; if the composition is frozen, then it can be used after defrosting at room temperature; the process should not be accelerated by heating devices.

For household purposes, it is more popular to purchase adhesive solution in small volumes.

Flaws

This super composition still has its drawbacks, among them:

  1. Its moisture resistance is weak, that is, it perfectly glues wood and other similar materials, provided that they are used indoors, then the strength is really high. A short-term increase in wood humidity up to 18% is allowed.
  2. Wood glue Moment is not frost-resistant. It is not allowed to be stored at sub-zero temperatures, and work on gluing surfaces is not recommended even at +10⁰ and below.
  3. Such adhesives are used to hold plastic together, but it does not work on all such surfaces. Although the instructions do not indicate this, it is recommended to carry out a test gluing.

Preparing for work

The preparatory stage helps to obtain a better degree of adhesion of the parts to each other; if you skip surface preparation, the result will not be durable.

The stage begins with cleansing the surface of all types of contaminants. The elements must be connected tightly to each other. When gluing wooden objects, the moisture level of the wood should not exceed 8-12%, so that the setting period of the glue is not prolonged.

Some wood species require pre-treatment of the surface with a degreasing compound.

Some wood species require pre-treatment of the surface with a degreasing compound.

How to work with wood glue

Before applying the adhesive mass

onto the surface, it is necessary to clean it from dirt and make sure it is dry. Then it is recommended to keep the materials at room temperature for some time. The next step is to distribute the mixture over the area of one of the parts.

Then the surfaces to be joined must be placed on top of each other, pressed down for 15 minutes and left for another 24 hours. After the specified time, you can do whatever you want with the glued surfaces, because it will be very difficult to separate them even with sharp objects.

Recommendations

When purchasing glue, regardless of its volume, you should follow the rules for its storage and use. Without this, the composition will quickly become unusable and its shelf life (according to the standard - 18 months from the date of production) will be sharply reduced.

The following tips will help prevent such consequences:

  • if a film forms on the surface of the mixture, it must be carefully removed using a wooden stick;
  • if the composition gets on the skin, it should be washed with plenty of water;
  • after the expiration date, any remaining glue must be disposed of as household waste;
  • after working with the mixture, all tools should be cleaned under high pressure of water;
  • If the glue dries on the instrument, it can only be removed mechanically.

Storage and packaging

Moment PVA is packaged in only two containers:

  • bottle – 750 g;
  • bucket – 2 kg and 30 kg.

This small range of packaging is explained by the fact that, unlike D2 glue, this product is used only for repairs.

As for children's work, using D3 here is simply pointless.

It is recommended to store the glue in a tightly closed container. Permissible temperature ranges from +5 to 30 degrees Celsius.

How to fix glued surfaces

When small objects are going to be glued, fixation can be achieved manually. It is necessary to create a tight connection for 15-20 minutes. While the composition is setting. It is during this period that it is important to obtain the required pressure on the taped seam.

When working with large objects, clamps or a vice, which are used by specialists, are used for fixation. If there are no such devices in the house, then use any heavy objects that can apply the necessary pressure to the surface of the tree.

When working with large objects, clamps or a vice, which are used by specialists, are used for fixation.

Areas of use

Moment Joiner glue has a wide range of applications. It can be used with any type of wood and for gluing any wooden surfaces. They can also work with chipboard, fiberboard, MDF, plywood, veneer, various fittings and facing materials. It is only important to take into account that standard Moment glue has an opaque consistency and a light brown tint. Therefore, you need to choose the appropriate cladding or a transparent variety.

Instructions for using the Moment Joiner express glue will include the following steps:

  1. Prepare the wooden surfaces to be glued for work: clean, degrease and dry. One of the surfaces must absorb water.

2. Before gluing, the materials must reach room temperature. To do this, you need to leave them indoors for a while. The temperature should be from +18 to +25 °C.

3. An even, uniform layer of glue is applied to one surface, after which they are connected to each other and held with force for 15-20 minutes.

4. After 24 hours, the parts can already be used, processed or subjected to further gluing.

Advice! To ensure that the quality and properties of the glue do not change, it is necessary to plan to carry out the work in a prepared room, where the temperature should not fall below +6 degrees. The same conditions are recommended for the street.

To work with Moment Joiner glue, you do not need any special knowledge or skills. For the job, the instructions given by the manufacturer on the packaging and following the recommendations will be sufficient. In some cases, the glue is applied to both surfaces to be bonded in an even layer. You can use a soft brush for this.

Advice! If after fastening there are visible glue residues extending beyond the seam, they can be removed mechanically.

If you use the “Instant Grip” composition in your work, you need to be extremely careful. It really sticks together instantly, so there will simply be no opportunity to eliminate imperfections or correct unevenness.

PVA carpentry glue - characteristics

PVA-based wood glue is sold ready-made; there is no need to dilute it in water. Ideal for working with hardwood, including tropical wood. The resulting seam is not afraid of moisture, it is durable and transparent.

Waterproof wood glue is used everywhere; the rapid development of technology and the emergence of new offers on the market do not prevent it from being in demand.

Among analogues, we can offer Moment carpentry glue, it is suitable for wood and plastic, sets quickly, and is very durable.

DIY wood glue

There are several ways to make wood glue with your own hands, but they are all based on the same principle - soaking and cooking in water.

To make wood glue with your own hands, you need the following ingredients:

  • yellow granules or solid glue tiles (the lighter the starting material, the better the composition will be),
  • boiled water,
  • tile,
  • glue for cooking.

Making wood glue step by step

Wood glue recipe

  1. Wrap the glue tiles in cloth and break them with a hammer.
  2. Pour the crushed source material with cold water so that it completely covers the dry glue. It should turn into a gelatinous mass. On average, this takes 4-12 hours. The water must be boiled.
  3. Place the swollen composition in a water bath and cook for about 15 minutes at a temperature of 60-80C, stirring constantly. All lumps should dissolve, the mass will be homogeneous and liquid.
  4. It is most convenient to boil the glue in a special glue pot made of two vessels. Water is poured into a larger vessel, and glue is placed into a smaller vessel and placed inside the larger one. The oilcloth is placed on the fire and the composition is boiled.
  5. During cooking, hot water can be added to obtain the desired consistency. If you are gluing tenon or end joints, the composition should be a little thicker than for working with plywood and other flat materials.
  6. As soon as a film appears on the surface, the wood glue can be considered ready. The composition should flow from the stick not in drops, but in a continuous stream.

You need to use the glue before it has cooled down, and the glue retains a temperature of 30-70C for one and a half to two hours without additional heating. As the solution cools, it will lose its properties, and then may even become moldy or begin to rot.

VIDEO

Option two

  1. Another way is when glue and water are mixed in a one to one ratio,
  2. Boil, and the resulting mass is ground,
  3. Then put it on a plate and cut into pieces.
  4. Immediately before starting repair work, such a workpiece is dissolved in a mixture of water and vodka and boiled.
  5. While preparing the composition, you can add table vinegar to the water and glue, and when the powder is completely dissolved, add vodka.

Various components are added to wood glue to impart new properties, for example, linseed oil or drying oil mixed with dry powder will increase the resistance of the adhesive joint to moisture, and if you have to work with leather, add glycerin.

The glue will retain its consistency at room temperature for no more than two hours, and then it will begin to thicken. Then you will have to reheat it again. In this regard, it is better to prepare the composition not in reserve, but only in the quantity that is required.
