Technical characteristics and consumption per 1 m2 of XC-010 primer

Purpose and application

The use of XC 010 soil allows you to obtain a barrier from alkaline elements, chemicals, sedimentary phenomena, and salt components. It is used for metals and reinforced concrete, also for concrete bases to obtain a durable coating.

The following areas of use of the tool can be distinguished:

  • For industrial structures: machine tools, shelving, etc., to prevent corrosion formations;
  • During the construction of highways. Lighting poles, bridge supporting parts, and parts of road markings are processed;
  • Construction of houses, various metal parts are covered with soil;
  • In domestic conditions, you can choose for priming pipes, fences, parts on window parts;
  • Maintenance structures: lifts, racks, metal parts in inspection pits;
  • In the industrial field to protect objects that are exposed to aggressive substances during operation.

It is used for metals and reinforced concrete, also for concrete bases to obtain a durable coating.

Application

For painting metal structures using a primer, a standard multi-layer coating scheme is used. This scheme is described in detail in GOST 9.402-2004. Coloring takes place in several stages.

  1. Surface preparation. We remove loose rust, ice and remnants of old paint with a wire brush, and sand the surface.
  2. Degreasing. We blow the surface with compressed air from the compressor. Degrease with a cloth soaked in solvent R-4 or R-4A. If there is no compressor, use a vacuum cleaner or broom.

  3. We spray apply XC-010 primer in 2 layers with intermediate drying “touch-to-touch” for an hour. It is recommended to carry out work at temperatures from -10 to +30 degrees. Pressure 2.5 -3.5 bar, nozzle - 1.8 mm. The thickness of each layer is 20-35 microns. Airless spraying possible. If necessary, dilute with solvent R-4. When applied with a brush or roller, the consumption is 150 g/m², however, the instructions do not stipulate this method of application, so application by any method other than spraying is possible only on non-critical elements for personal use.

  4. We apply enamel. It is optimal to use XC, XV and XCh enamels, for example, XC-759 in 2 layers. Drying 1-2 hours at 20 degrees.
  5. We apply varnish XC-76. Dry for at least three hours at a temperature of +20 degrees. At lower temperatures, drying time will increase.

Advantages of primer XC-010

Applying primer with a spray gun

Application

This is done with a brush, roller or spray. Two conditions are met: the air temperature is from -10 to +30 degrees, and the surface is dry and clean.

First, mix the composition thoroughly. Dilute with universal solvent R-4, and in its absence - R-4A or ordinary acetone. They then use it to wash the instrument. It is strictly forbidden to dissolve with white spirit or solvent R-646 (647).

In the video you can see the process of applying XC 010:

It is allowed to add a hardener 3-4 hours before application (1% of the primer weight). With a hardener, the composition will harden in 5-6 hours. The estimated consumption for a single-layer coating is 100-120 grams per square meter of area.

Complete polymerization occurs within one to two weeks. At this time, the surface is protected from external influences, especially mechanical ones.

Store out of the reach of children. In a dry, dark place, the primer composition XC 010 is stored for up to a year. When thickening, dilute with solvent R-4.
